Therapeutic Techniques

In addition to customized exercise and home programs, physical therapy sessions may include a combination of the following techniques, according to your needs and goals:

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is an effective technique for treating pain and restrictions in the body, and improving overall health. Your therapist applies sustained pressure to different areas of the body, allowing the fascial system to release and realign. While gentle, Myofascial Release can have powerful effects on the mental, emotional, and physical body.

Myofascial Release is an excellent tool for many conditions, including headaches, neck and back pain, acute injuries, and fibromyalgia. Myofascial Release can be especially useful in treating chronic pain and other conditions that have not resolved over the years with other therapies.

Manual Therapy

Manual techniques can help decrease joint pain and muscle tension, improve postural alignment, and increase range of motion. With a wide variety of approaches, we are able to select the manual techniques that will most effectively address your needs.

Some of these techniques include IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), myofascial decompression (cupping with movement), muscle energy techniques, joint mobilization, and trigger point release.
